Peter was born in England and qualified as an architect in 1948. In 1952 he emigrated to New Zealand and joined NZ Railways in Wellington. In 1954 he went into private practice as an architect in Rotorua and retired in 1989. In 1990 he moved to Western Australia with his wife Elisabeth.  They now live in Mandurah, a seaside resort 75 kilometres south of Perth, venue of the ANZMRC Biennial Conference from 3rd to 6th September 2010.

He joined Lodge Matakana at Rotorua in 1964 and was WM in 1978. He started lecturing in 1976. In 1980 he was the Foundation Master of the Waikato Lodge of Research.

In 1990 he joined the Western Australian Lodge of Research and was WM in 1993. At present he holds the recognised office of Lecture Master. He has been the Western Australian representative on the ANZMRC committee since 2004 and is the current president.

He has lectured extensively, delivering 57 lectures and presentations in NZ and almost 230 since living in WA. Presentations have included the writing, directing and acting in a number of Masonic stage productions .

His theme for the tour ‘A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF FREEMASONRY’ stems from his wish to disseminate information on the basics of Freemasonry to as many Freemasons as possible and all his presentations have this purpose in mind.
