ANZMRC is publishing a book, "Under the Canopy of Diversity: a better understanding of Freemasonry", containing presentations by Kerry Nicholls and Peter Verrall.

Kerry was born in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1949. He is married to Cheryl with 2 daughters and 5 grandsons.

Kerry is a 4th generation Freemason. He was initiated in Lodge Awatea No 258 on the 27th October 1973, and served as Master of this lodge in the year 2007 – 2008. Kerry has a passion for Freemasonry and its many aspects which over the ensuing years has kept opening many doors as researching leads to numerous and various avenues of exploration.

After a career in law enforcement within the Police and Justice Departments and a stint in the private security industry Kerry is enjoying leisure time in exploring these Masonic avenues. As well as reading and family genealogy life is pretty busy having just completed the Diploma of Masonic Education and the Certificate of Mark Education under the auspices of the respective Grand Lodges of South Australia and Northern Territory. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Anthropology and Religious Studies and a Diploma of Police Studies, and is now pursuing further aspects of Masonic study.

Bro. Nicholls is currently a Grand Steward and Junior Warden of the Hawke’s Bay Research Lodge No 305 – his Mother Research Lodge. He was the 2006 Kellerman Lecturer for New Zealand - his paper was entitled: "A conceptual overview of Maoridom and Freemasonry in New Zealand Society."

On this tour Kerry is accompanied by Cheryl, his strength and inspiration in life. They look forward to opportunities to seal new friendships.
